Education
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst with both a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (2008 - magna cum laude) and Information Systems and also a Master's degree in Accounting (2009). I was a member of the honors college throughout my time in college and graduated after completing a business capstone course that involved significant extra work. I was also a member of the residential academic program as both a student and a mentor in the program. I am a licensed CPA in both IL and MA.
Experience
I worked for over 6 years in audit at Deloitte. During this time I worked extensively with younger staff to educate them and review accounting transactions that they had questions about. I was also responsible for analyzing and documenting clients' significant accounting policy decisions which involved research within the applicable accounting standards to determine the correct method of accounting for a given transaction. I was directly responsible for the review of all work performed on each audit. Currently I work for a multi-billion dollar retailer located in Bolingbrook and develop accounting business requirement documents for system changes that we are undertaking.
