I believe that teaching is the sharing of knowledge and passion. Through this sharing, joy can be spread to others and creativity sparked in others. There is a certain excitement with learning something that has previously been difficult to understand and I believe that the excitement inspires even greater desires in learning. I find joy in being a tutor because I am able to share my passion and knowledge with students and become a stepping stone on their path to academic success. I believe in prioritizing the student's goals by assessing their strengths and shoring up their weaknesses with their strengths and learning strategies to show the student how to overcome the challenges in their education. I earned a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a Chemistry minor. During my studies on the pre-med path, I learned many techniques that I feel are valuable to other students, including stress-coping and study skills. I also have a wealth of knowledge in the sciences that I enjoy passing on to other students. I hope that as a tutor, I am able to provide support to the student both inside and outside of the classroom so that they are able to reach their goals.
