Experience
I'm a tutor based in Chicago, Illinois. I have a bachelor's in history with minors in humanities and anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. After graduating from Washington University, I began my career working as a tutor, teacher, and director of tutors at a public charter school in Boston. I also earned my masters in mild to moderate disabilities from Simmons College during this time. Since then, I've worked with students from a range of learning disabilities. My experience working as a teacher and tutor has given me unique insight into exactly what it takes for students to reach their academic goals. I've developed a host of strategies to help students reach those goals based on my experience. I tutor a broad range of subjects but some of my favorites are reading, math, history, and helping students prepare for an upcoming exam. I love helping a student finally overcome a topic that they've been struggling with and watching their confidence levels in the classroom grow. The best way I've found to reach this new level of knowledge with students is through individualized lesson plans and targeted practice exercises. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy listening to music and exploring new places through travel.
