Experience
As a person who has learned English as a second language, then come to the United States to live and work, I understand that education can be difficult. My years of experience as an educator and a tutor, along with my empathy for my students, helps me to be an effective teacher. I have two master's degrees: one in Chemistry, and one in Educational Leadership. I've been a science teacher, specifically teaching chemistry, for students in grades 7 through 11. I have also worked in other areas in school, including the head of the science department, assistant director, STEM coordinator, lead organizer for the science fair, and school principal. As a tutor, my focus is science, particularly chemistry. I have worked closely with many students over the years to help them prepare their science fair projects for both national and international fairs. I want to give students the right direction to help them succeed, which is why I enjoy tutoring. It allows me to work closely with small groups or individual students. I've found that the personal attention and additional focus of a tutoring session can really help students improve in their coursework. I am from Turkey, and I enjoy traveling with my family when I am not tutoring.
