I am a tutor who has recently earned my elementary education teaching certificate from Benedictine University. I had previously attended Eastern Illinois University. I completed my clinicals teaching math and reading to first and third graders and did my student teaching with second graders. I have also done volunteer work that focused on teaching writing to first graders. My preferred subject to teach is math, although I also enjoy assisting students as they improve their reading. In addition, I tutor subjects like writing, grammar, phonics, executive functioning, business, and study skills.I try to have as much fun as possible while teaching students, and I tend to apply the material to real situations that they might find themselves in. I feel as though this helps the students to better retain the information. I truly enjoy working with a variety of different students and helping them to realize their academic goals.When I'm not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy hanging out with my three sons. We tend to stay active, doing things like reading books, visiting local parks, and going for bike rides. I also love running, baking, and scrapbooking.
